Leaders In Action Certificate The McDonough Center offers a Leaders-in-Action (LIA) Certificate to any student on campus who is interested in developing his/her leadership skills through service. The certificate allows students to work closely with the Director of Civic Engagement in the development and implementation of a service project in the community. Through a combination of classes and service, LIA students gain valuable insights about community leadership. No separate selection process is required to participate in the LIA program. However, students' LIA projects must be approved by the Director of Civic Engagement. In addition, students must officially declare their participation in the LIA Certificate by filling out the appropriate form in the College's Records Office. For more information about the LIA Certificate, please send an e-mail to lead@marietta.edu. Leaders In Action Requirements The certificate combines classroom work and a substantive community-service project approved by the Director of Civic Engagement.
