Description: Leading national children’s advocacy organization seeks candidates for Director of Membership. Responsibilities:

  • Provide member support on a daily basis.
  • Design and manage learning opportunities, including webinars, events and meetings, which focus on building capacity across a nationwide network of 60 member organizations in the areas of organizational management, fund development, communications and advocacy skills.
  • Manage the development and implementation of a framework to increase members’ ability to engage in a national strategy to create a children’s movement.
  • Develop, write and edit success stories, correspondence and Web postings related to member activities, accomplishments and national office communications.
  • Engage members in federal advocacy activities.
  • Creating and help maintain an online resource library of information, expertise, publications and a story bank from across the network.
  • Implement a member growth strategy supporting new member development; and supervising interns.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, three to five years experience in a national membership organization or multi-issue advocacy organization, outstanding written and verbal communications skills, familiarity with advocacy and nonprofit management and development, experienced in customer service and hospitality. Description: This position is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Leadership and Community Involvement department. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing the university's efforts to initiate, support, track, and evaluate community based service-learning; supporting student efforts to incorporate service-learning methodologies into extracurricular programs; serving as the primary advisor for the SPARC (Students Promoting Awareness, Responsibility and Citizenship) service organization by providing guidance and support for officers and programs; coordinating annual assessment strategies for programs within the Leadership and Community Involvement department; working with faculty to implement, improve, and evaluate service-learning in their classes; developing a resource network for faculty; and coordinating service-learning opportunities with local nonprofit agencies and assisting with student placement and tracking.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree is required. Masters is preferred. A minimum of three years work experience is required, preferably in service-learning and or service related programming.
